Peter Andren

With the passing of Peter Andren our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Peter made a significant contribution as a parliamentarian and advocate for hte people of Calare. His influence extended beyond his electorate due to his unfailing determination to uphold a robust democracy in Australia.

Like many others in our community, I have lost a close friend and wonderful mentor and guide.

Gavin Priestley

About Gavin Priestley

Gavin has lived and worked in the central west since 2000. He spent the last five of his twenty years with Telstra as Telstra Country Wide’s Area General Manager for western NSW.

He resigned from Telstra in 2005 because he opposed the Telstra sale, convinced the bush would end up with second rate telecommunications services.

Gavin lives in Orange and has also run a superfine merino sheep farm at Hargraves for the last two decades. He is a member of the NSW Farmers Association. His other interests include independent politics and flying his own aircraft.

“Gavin Priestley has fought for parity of price and services in telephone and internet networks for country Australians–and continues to do so. He is also a primary producer with a broad understanding of our needs in rural and regional NSW. I strongly endorse Gavin as a true independent who will answer only to you–the voter–as Independent Member for the new Calare after the next election.”

Peter Andren, Federal Member for Calare and Independent Senate Candidate for NSW.

What Gavin stands for
People before politics & economics–equal & affordable services for country Australians.
Representing your concerns to government departments.
Well funded health & education for regional & rural NSW.
More funding for dental & mental health services.
Protecting community water rights over wholesale water trading.
Fair trade for farmers–protection from unfair markets & quarantine risks.
Sustainable industry & employment.
A national infrastructure plan with clear objectives for regional & rural Australia.

The Independent Difference
An independent represents you first – not a party line.
An Independent MP can speak out on important regional & rural issues that the parties ignore.
Independent MPs represent the needs of their electorates to both sides of party politics.
Independent MPs ensure governments are accountable.
The Coalition & Labor can’t afford to ignore independent electorates.
An Independent is never in opposition.
